My philosophy is really not about love but about judgement. I feel very strongly that in life there are so many people that will have a problem with you and judge you that I don’t believe in hiding my feelings. I don’t want people to see me trying to project myself as something I’m not. “Be yourself” in one of the most clichéd things to say, and have personally heard it so many times that it really loses its importance. The truth is should be portrayed clearly and upfront, and that is something I try my hardest to live by. Something that always intrigues me is the two sides that you can see in some people. I have always believed that people have two sides to them, and think portraying one good angle is the same thing as being untrue to yourself. I think most people would disagree with this because humans rely on secrets. I think that the only way to find out people’s true feelings is for people to be upfront and honest with themselves and others and things would work our in our favor.

Artist Statement:

What I wanted to accomplish for this collage was to create a balance of tranquility of the world and about 10 things that are wrong with the world. I wanted there to be a balance so that the nature. The tree is constructed of little pieces that I printed of my quote that I wrote about in my philosophical statement. The left side of the tree has pictures of things that are naturally peaceful before any person disturbs them. I also camouflaged the word "coexist" in the tree branches to represent all unifying cultures and religions. On the right side I represented chaos. I put pictures representing of war, hunger, politics and death. The leeches are symbolic of political leeches feeding off of the world, and the hunger is represented by the famous photograph of the starving child. The fire in this collage is raining down on everything to connect the chaos to all the nature.
