What is Media Studies?

The Integrated Media Studies classes are mandatory, trimester, non-elective courses, grades 9-11 that are integrated into the cultural history curriculum. In all the Media Studies courses, students learn to deconstruct and construct media via collaborative and individual projects and activities, production, discussion, and written reflection. This is a double-period class.

Self Portrait

Self-Portrait

In my self-portrait there are three images of myself. They all are of different clarity. The one in the middle, which is the most clear, is my present self. It is the clearest because it is what is happening write now. I face forward because in the present you must always move forward. The “me” on the right is my past. It is faded away greatly because, I have bad memory and my past is very blurry (if its even there). The “me” on the left is the future me. This “me” is also blurry but less than the past for one main reason. I have the tendency to plan things out in advance and to think about what I want to do in future a lot.

Trial & Error

One of the main problems I had was going down to the beach, which was freezing in my bathing suit. I also had trouble with lighting and image blur due to moving of the camera.
