What is Media Studies?

The Integrated Media Studies classes are mandatory, trimester, non-elective courses, grades 9-11 that are integrated into the cultural history curriculum. In all the Media Studies courses, students learn to deconstruct and construct media via collaborative and individual projects and activities, production, discussion, and written reflection. This is a double-period class.

Collage 2

Collage 2: This collage represents the modern individual being attacked with mass media and information. We are forced to build a wall against the insane over-stimulation lest we lose our sanity. Living in this type of environment makes focusing very difficult and it becomes apparent when one looks at the numbers of attention disorder diagnoses. The world we live in is exhausting to our senses. We can’t hear, taste, see, smell, or feel like humans once could. Our intuition is getting foggy and as we get older some of our senses  gradually stop working altogether.Nina Channing (Bad quality, sorry)
