What is Media Studies?

The Integrated Media Studies classes are mandatory, trimester, non-elective courses, grades 9-11 that are integrated into the cultural history curriculum. In all the Media Studies courses, students learn to deconstruct and construct media via collaborative and individual projects and activities, production, discussion, and written reflection. This is a double-period class.

My Collage

My collage represents the transition of thought through technology. On the left side of the collage, there are old, rusting, abandoned military vehicles. They are floating in white space or the mind. In the center there is a computer made of little ripped pieces of paper. In the screen of the computer, there is a nest of golden eggs with baby ducks and a large duck walking out. The golden eggs represent the golden rule, and the birth of new thought. The ducks represent family and the evolution of the new thought that was born. The car and baseball represent new technologies, and old pastimes. The oyster represents inner beauty. The musical notes represent my thought that music is a vital part of everybody's life. ON the other side of the computer, the abandoned military vehicles have turned into sky and clouds representing the complete transition of an old and outdated thought into a new healthy belief.
