ARTIST STATEMENT

In the center of my collage are stairs. In my opinion stairs are good as a symbol for life because you are always going to be older and in the end there is death. The death again, is going to be illustrated by the top of the stairs pass over into the paradise (rain forest in this case). Another point is that in life you always try to go up, to be better. The stairs show that our goal is to be on the top of the stairs but it’s difficult and exhausted to come to this point and sometimes you need a break, so you will stay on a stair for some time, maybe you will go one stair down because you were failing and if you try it again you will come up the stairs again. That are reasons because chose the stairs as the center for my collage. You should always try to make the best out of everything, but at the same time it’s normal to fail!

The other pictures show what I want from life. At the bottom there are one, which symbolizes my youth, the first part of life. I want to have fun, be with my friends, enjoy my life, and take everything not this seriously.

Then pictures like the moving water should show that I want to change something. I don’t want to be a person who is one of hundred, I would like to be the one colure umbrella under hundreds of black one.

Another symbol is the one of Greenpeace, because I think it’s very important to have organizations like this. You should always remember that we need the earth to love, the earth don’t need us!

Freedom is very important for me! The bird and the statue of liberty should show you this.
