What is Media Studies?

The Integrated Media Studies classes are mandatory, trimester, non-elective courses, grades 9-11 that are integrated into the cultural history curriculum. In all the Media Studies courses, students learn to deconstruct and construct media via collaborative and individual projects and activities, production, discussion, and written reflection. This is a double-period class.

Collage

Artist Statement

by Felix Dango

My collage expresses my way of life and the life that I already experienced.

It shows also that life is linked to a certain amount of time and that it counts what you do with your time.

The time of anybody’s life is set but nobody knows what will happen in the future.

The chameleon in the middle does not mean that I adapt my self into my environment, but it means that I changed during my life a lot. I met a lot of interesting people and learned from them.

The pictures of the nature in my collage stand for the wonderfulness in our world and that we should take this not for granted.

The climbing woman on the right stands for the hard parts of a life and that you should always keep climbing, even if it gets very hard.

Because this is what life is about.
