What is Media Studies?

The Integrated Media Studies classes are mandatory, trimester, non-elective courses, grades 9-11 that are integrated into the cultural history curriculum. In all the Media Studies courses, students learn to deconstruct and construct media via collaborative and individual projects and activities, production, discussion, and written reflection. This is a double-period class.

Artist Statement

In my opinion, my collage deals with one of the most important issues in life. We learn all our life for a good education, to get a fine place in a college or university, to get a well-paid job so we can buy later everything we want. But is that really what we want? I mean, it is nice and makes life easier when you can buy anything you want but you cannot buy the important things in life. You cannot buy luck or nothing can guarantee you success, not even money. You cannot plan or buy love, a happy life or family. All that happens without your help. You can call it destiny but the fact is that you can buy many nice things with money, but not the real important things and values. Life is not always nice and “round” but has edgings, so sometimes you have to balance these two things. Therefore the question in my collage is: What do you want?
